Faith and Service
Our spiritual life invites everyone to participate.
Faith is the heartbeat of Notre Dame Academy. Central to our identity as a Sisters of Notre Dame school, it is woven into the daily rhythm of every student's experience.
Why Catholic schools helps L.A. students

Even if your family is not Catholic, your child will be welcomed here.
When the world feels untethered, NDA provides a safe refuge. Students from all backgrounds reflect on their own faith journey and learn the power of relying on something bigger than ourselves.
We know from brain science research that having a grounded spiritual core can be a powerful buffer for mental health, helping kids look beyond the noise of everyday egos and social media to find a deeper sense of purpose.
Rooted in faith and knowledge, students are inspired to live Gospel values and transform the world.
Timeless...
and Timely
Service Driven by Mission
Service at Notre Dame Academy is an active expression of our values. At the high school, our service learning program engages students with the world in meaningful ways, with required service hours that put faith into action.
At the coed TK-8 divisions, students take their first steps in service by supporting local food pantries, shelters, and community organizations. Each class sponsors a specific cause, learning about and raising funds for it through our Buck-A-Stuff donations. On campus, students, teachers, and parents also lift one another up through daily acts of kindness and character education.
Purposeful Retreats and Growth
Our retreat program is a thoughtfully designed, age-appropriate journey that offers students time for reflection and connection away from the demands of the school day. Through these experiences, students explore their personal faith, build lasting bonds with peers, and deepen their commitment to our shared mission.
Leadership in Faith
Our spiritual programming thrives on collaboration and student voice. At the all-girls high school, Campus Ministry partners with student committees to lead retreats, liturgies, and outreach. At the coed elementary school, the Religious Affairs Committee works with school leadership to make faith a joyful daily reality through morning prayer and sacramental preparation. Together, these teams ensure spiritual leadership is shared across our community.
A Journey of Encounter and Belonging
Reimagined traditions place students at the center of anchor masses and prayer services, where they serve as readers, Eucharistic ministers, and altar servers. By leading these sacred moments, students develop a powerful sense of spiritual presence and purpose.
A Unified Community
Our commitment to faith spans every division, from our youngest learners to our graduating seniors. Elementary students begin by recognizing God's goodness through school families and whole-school celebrations, then take on greater responsibility planning liturgies and leading outreach as they grow. This continuity ensures every Notre Dame Academy graduate leaves with a strong moral foundation and a lasting commitment to leading with integrity.
