The Notre Dame Academy athletic identity reflects our history and our future. While our students share a common foundation of integrity and excellence, our mascots represent the specific journeys of our school divisions—each one standing for courage and the high standards we hold for every student athlete.
The NDA Knight
Our TK through 8th Grade coed program is represented by the Knight. The Knight is a timeless symbol of honor, chivalry, and service to the community. For our younger students, being a Knight means learning the fundamentals of teamwork and showing respect for every opponent. It represents the beginning of a student’s journey toward leadership and the development of a strong moral compass.
The Regal Gryphon
As our students move into the all girls environment for Middle and High School, they take on the identity of the Regal Gryphon. The Gryphon, a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the wings of an eagle, signifies strength, intelligence, and soaring ambition. This mascot honors the power of young women to command both the earth and the sky through their achievements.

While the Gryphon is our official symbol, our athletes are most often known and cheered for as the Regals. The name Regals carries a sense of dignity and fierce capability. It reflects the sophisticated, confident young women our students become. When a student puts on a Regals uniform, she is representing a legacy of champions who lead with grace and compete with relentless determination.
